TurboData is a test data generator. Simply read in the table and column information directly from your database, press 2 pushbuttons, and TurboData will load your database with valid data, all the foreign keys will be correctly resolved!
Various TurboData components can be used to access, create and update your data including a Insert, Update, Select and Delete SQL Generation, SQL Builder, and a Grid Data Editor. Scenarios are used to contain the selection of tables to generate SQL for. The scenarios can be maintained and used repeatedly for different target DBMS platforms. Version control makes sure that any changes to your physical database are applied to your scenarios without resulting in unnecessary loss of work.
There are 3 levels of TurboData to choose from; The Light version generates up to 10 rows of data per table at a time, it is free and never expires. Personal is limited to 1,000 rows per table. The Professional version can be used for the generation of millions of rows. You can also choose to save the generated Insert SQL statements to a text file to be used for loading onto a remote database or for sharing amongst other users in a development team.

Use the drag and drop interface for the generation of valid, realistic data with correct referential integrity. Generated data may be loaded directly to your database or saved to a delimited text file or a file of Insert SQL statements in the correct syntax. Default values may be derived, or real values can be read in sequence or at random from existing data on your database, text files, or spreadsheets. TurboData comes with thousands of values such as First Names, Last Names, Cities and Countries that will make your test data look very realistic.
Select, Update and Delete SQL statements are generated in a similar way that Insert SQL statements are generated. Simply point and click to select the tables and columns for generation, and press a button to create and execute a set of SQL statements.
Use TurboDatas SQL Builder to point and click on tables and columns to quickly build and execute any SQL statement you desire. The SQL can be executed directly from TurboData or saved to file to be executed on any platform at any time.
Use TurboData to view, create, update or delete data on a spreadsheet style grid. TurboData provides a common user interface to edit data on multiple DBMS platforms.
TurboData connects to your database via ODBC or OLE DB connections. Supported DBMS's include:
DB2
Informix
Jet (Microsoft Access)
MS SQL Server
MySQL
NonStop SQL
Oracle
Sybase
SQL Anywhere
SQL92
Teradata
Visual FoxPro
If you do not see your DBMS here TurboData should still be able to access it with an ODBC connection. However, the syntax of the generated SQL may need to be tailored to suit your DBMS. Try it, and contact us if you have problems.
A database schema may be edited manually. This includes renaming table and column names, or even setting a column to be a foreign key. This is useful if the referential integrity rules are not stored within your DBMS.
Load real data from text files, spreadsheets, or even other databases. Use this feature to set up Look-Up Tables or to convert from one database table to another.
