We are committed to continually improve the features and functionality of TurboData. Most of the improvements are a direct result of comments we have received from users and students in training classes. Levelset v5.0.1 (April 29, 2008)

  • Option to sort tables by name or quantity of foreign keys in ascending or descending order.

  • Save selected data from grid results to Comma Separated Value (CSV) file. Can be opened in Excel for custom formatting or further data mining.

  • Save batch job SQL results to CSV file.

  • Various performance enhancements reading in a new DB from Oracle.

  • When reading in a schema from an Oracle database, it was taking a long time to resolve foreign keys. TurboData was reading all the foreign keys in the database without filtering by owner.

  • When reading in a schema from an Oracle database, TurboData was not reading in columns under certain conditions.

  • Read in Oracle Check Constraints and create TurboData Generic Values from them to be selected randomly during data generation.

  • Removed interface to Turbo Reports, as that product is no longer supported.

  • Various UI improvements.

  • Do not allow a batch job to be scheduled if it does not contain any scenarios.

  • Update the progress bar during the phase that creates data on the temporary database. This temporary DB is required for resolving foreign keys correctly.

  • Update the progress bar during the phase that resolves foreign keys.

  • When generating SQL, update the screen title to let user know they can press the Escape key to cancel.

  • Launching the TurboData Database Definition Report was not displayed correctly in Mozilla FireFox browser.

  • Was not always reading in all the DSNs used for an ODBC connection.

  • Use latest Bennet-Tec TList control which suppresses Vista operating system warning.


Levelset v5.0.0 (December 3, 2007)

  • Improved performance of data generation speed. Up to 3 times faster for some scenarios.

  • Batch job scheduling, set TurboData to run during off peak hours.

  • Allow user defined hand crafted SQL Scripts in batch scenarios.

  • Add a generate button to 'Edit Batch Scenario' window.

  • Add a 'View Results File' button on 'Batch Generate' window.

  • All batch jobs that update database write comments to a results file, as opposed to just select SQL statements.

  • Allow batch job functionality in all levels of TurboData license, as opposed to just TurboData Professional.

  • Trap and handle error: '3021 (No current record.)' that occurred when pressing the Refresh button on the "Table and Column" tab on the "Select Database Source" window.

  • Database connection tips enhanced to suggest trying different options on the Advanced settings tab, such as; Toggling between ADO Cursor Location 'adUseClient' and 'adUseServer'. Toggling the Microsoft Database Protocol between ADO and DAO.

  • After a failed database connection when trying to read in a new database, pressing browse button for an MDB file gave "Object invalid or no longer set" error.

  • When message is displayed stating that 'No tables were selected in this scenario for data generation', also display the name of the scenario. Otherwise, when running a batch job containing many scenarios, it is not obvious which scenario is empty.

  • SQL Builder – save results functionality.

  • Added 'Open this window at startup' option on Open database window, as this will typically be the first thing that a user will want to do when starting TurboData.

  • Grid view sometimes leaving mouse pointer as an hour glass when not connected to DB.

  • HTML report of database table and column definition had a header 3 tag ending with a header 1 tag.

  • Not displaying all tables on status bar when reading in a lot of tables from a SQL Server 2005 database.

  • Option to open generated data file automatically.

  • Option to open generated results file automatically.

  • During data generation pressing Close button sometimes gave an error.

  • Improved Generate form UI.
