How to use this Manual

This manual is intended for use by both novice and expert relational database users. The Quick Start tutorial will help the experienced users quickly gain a working understanding of TurboData functionality so that they can begin using the product without delay.

The next several sections describe the many features of TurboData spanning the database connection, reading the database schema into TurboData, the generation of ANSI standard SQL statements, through to overriding the defaults to design very realistic beds of test data.

All TurboData windows are documented, each in the appropriate section of the manual that describes the related functional area. This same window-by-window reference is attainable through TurboData's integrated On-line Help system by pressing the F1 key on whichever window you happen to be on. The On-line Help is a context sensitive hypertext feature of TurboData which shares the same textual content as this manual.

Throughout the manual, you will find design and technique suggestions which will take advantage of the many features of TurboData. These Helpful Hints will be highlighted as shown below. These suggestions should address many of the day-to-day problems or questions that you may have.

Helpful Hint: Many of these Helpful Hints are summarized in the How Do I? section of this manual. These questions and hints have been compiled from actual users comments . They reflect many common questions that people have regarding TurboData functionality.

Of course, if the answer to your specific question is not in this manual, please call the TurboData Help Desk. The number and hours of operation of the Help Desk are provided with your TurboData license and is documented in the Obtaining Technical Support section of the on-line help.
